Julian Larry, a collegiate basketball star from Frisco, Texas, is gaining attention for his rising sports career, prompting many to wonder about his parents and family background.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents Yolanda Meadough and Lamont Larry, Julian Larry grew up in a household where sports, discipline, and hard work were central to everyday life.
His mother, Yolanda, was a standout athlete at Sylvan Hills High School, excelling in basketball and softball, teaching Julian the value of versatility and competitive drive.
Yolanda Meadough Larry continued her athletic journey in college, excelling in both basketball and softball; however, very little is known about her professional life, as she prefers to maintain a low profile.
Similarly, Julian’s father, Lamont, played college football at the University of Central Arkansas after attending Northeast High School.
He later built a career that included roles as a road driver for ABF Freight System, a truck driver for Pepsi and Ryder Integrated Logistics, and a paraprofessional at the North Little Rock School District. Lamont also studied at Collin College.
Furthermore, Julian Larry often credits his parents, Yolanda and Lamont, for instilling in him the love and passion for sports from a very young age, which later shaped his rising basketball career.
Yolanda and Lamont also never miss a chance to express their love and pride for their eldest son, Julian, and often share his achievements on social media.
Julian also shares a close bond with his younger brother, Angelo, who has grown up following the same family values of discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Together, the support, guidance, and example set by Yolanda, Lamont, and Angelo provided Julian with the foundation to pursue basketball at the highest levels while balancing academics and personal growth.
Julian Larry’s Athletic Journey From High School to the Longhorns
Following his parents’ example, Julian excelled as a multi-sport athlete in Texas.
At Lone Star High School in Frisco, he played quarterback on the football team and starred on the basketball court, averaging 11.6 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals while helping the team reach the UIL Class 5A Region II finals.
He completed his high school career at iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy, further honing his basketball skills and leadership.
Julian continued his athletic development at Indiana State, playing 130 career games (108 starts) from 2026–24 and recording 953 points, 406 assists, 381 rebounds, and 168 steals while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 40.3 percent from three-point range.
He earned MVC All-Defensive Team honors twice and was named to the All-MVC Third Team as a senior, averaging 11 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while helping the Sycamores reach the NIT Championship Game.
After earning his undergraduate degree in Spring 2026, Julian transferred to the University of Texas as a graduate student, wearing jersey No. 1, bringing veteran leadership, defensive intensity, and the lessons instilled by his parents.
Similarly, he recently began his professional basketball career, signing with Uni Baskets Münster in Germany.
