Although rumors about Donna Kelce’s illness have been proven false, she has shifted her focus to a more meaningful mission, raising awareness about shingles. This painful condition affects millions of adults over 50.

Earlier this year, she organized a special brunch in Kansas City with celebrities including Brooke Shields, Gina Torres, and Roselyn Sanchez as part of GSK’s THRIVE @50+ campaign.

The initiative aims to encourage adults over 50 to take proactive steps to manage their health and learn ways to prevent conditions like shingles.

“Shingles is a painful, blistering rash that can appear without warning. Nearly all adults over 50 already carry the virus that causes shingles,” Donna explained, urging people to consult their doctors or pharmacists about their risk and prevention options.

Furthermore, in an interview, Donna Kelce explained that the reason for her advocacy is personal, as she has witnessed friends struggle with the condition and understands the toll it can take on daily life.

“You miss out on life’s most precious moments when you’re in pain and unable to be yourself,” she shared.

Through her efforts, Donna Kelce continues to use her platform to educate the public about a serious health issue, encouraging others to stay informed and proactive about their well-being.

Donna has also been involved in several charitable initiatives, and in 2026, she was named one of Glamour’s women of the year for her role as the mother of two professional football players and her reflections on motherhood, ambition, and perseverance.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to mother Ina Marie Petranek and father Donald Roy Blalock, Donna Kelce is also a former athlete. She excelled in track and field and, during high school, competed in the Junior Olympics.

Furthermore, she became the first in her family to graduate from college. Donna earned a degree in radio and television from Ohio University and earned her MBA from Baldwin Wallace University.

Upon graduating, Donna began her career in banking, working for Mastercard and later specializing in commercial real estate finance at a Cleveland-based bank for 30 years.
