Covington has taken a major step forward in strengthening its athletic programs by officially naming Griffin Windham as the new Head Football Coach while unveiling a state-of-the-art weight room designed to benefit all student-athletes.
School officials and community leaders welcomed Coach Windham with enthusiasm, citing his immediate impact and hands-on approach as a clear sign of the leadership he brings to the program.
From the moment he accepted the role, Windham demonstrated his commitment to Covington athletes by leveraging his connections at Enterprise High School to secure new weight-training equipment for the school.
Rather than delegating the work, Coach Windham personally spent his weekend assembling the equipment and organizing the new weight room.
His efforts ensured the facility was ready for use and set a tone of accountability, work ethic, and dedication that he expects from his players.
That early investment reflects his belief that success on the field begins with preparation, discipline, and a strong foundation off the field.
Covington’s leadership also played a critical role in this milestone. The school extended special recognition to Mr. Shannon Driver and the Covington County Board of Education for their continued support and commitment to excellence.
Their backing made the construction of the new weight room possible, providing a modern training space for both boys and girls athletic programs.
The new facility represents more than upgraded equipment—it signals a long-term investment in student development, athlete safety, and competitive growth.

With dedicated leadership and a state-of-the-art training environment, the program enters an exciting new chapter focused on growth, unity, and sustained success.
