Frederick, Maryland Community Grieves as 13-Year-Old Youth Football Player TJ Jackson Dies After Sudden On-Field Emergency

TJ Jackson, a Frederick, Maryland-based standout football player, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2026, at an untimely age of 13, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.
According to a GoFundMe page, TJ Jackson suffered a sudden medical emergency on the field during a football game on Saturday, October 25, 2026.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital and bravely fought for his life for days. Unfortunately, TJ Jackson couldn’t survive.
While the details surrounding the actual reason behind his untimely death are not yet disclosed, many of his loved ones are paying tribute to TJ Jackson on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
TJ Jackson was a cherished member of the Maryland community and touched the lives of many with his remarkable athletic skills and kind, cheerful nature.
He excelled in multiple sports and was a standout football player, playing for several youth clubs and earning several honors.
While very little information about his current school and athletic journey is available, he previously played for the Damascus Sports Association’s Cougars football team.
Wearing jersey #76, TJ Jackson led his team in several victories and won several honorable mentions for his remarkable journey.
Damascus Cougars Football took to its official social media to pay tribute to their former star and wrote:
“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, loved ones, teammates, and all who were blessed to know him.TJ will forever be part of our Cougar family. We ask our community to please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.Once a Cougar, always a Cougar. 🐾”

FCYAA-JR Cadets shared a heart-touching post on social media that reads:
“We will always remember his incredible smile, his great presence, and the positive energy he brought everywhere he went. TJ was an amazing young man and will forever be part of our Jr. Cadets family.Please join us in keeping his family in your prayers as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. Once a Cadet, always a Cadet. TJ will always be one of ours.”

TJ Jackson was not just an amazing athlete but also a great son to his parents, TJ Senior and Annette Brooks.
While very little information about his father is available as he prefers to maintain a low profile, his mother, Annette Brooks, took to her social media to pay tribute to her son, sharing several beautiful pictures of TJ.
Similarly, social media is filled with heartfelt condolences to TJ Jackson’s mother, Annette, and family.
One wrote:
“Loss for words right now God has received another angel. Prayers to Annette Brooks and the rest of the family. TJ will be truly missed R.I.P #76 🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
Another added:
“May Gods love, peace and comfort surround Annette Brooks and family during this time of transition.”
Furthermore, TJ’s mother, Annette Brooks, and his family haven’t released any official statement regarding his untimely demise as they are currently grieving the loss and prefer to maintain privacy.
They will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
Likewise, the Maryland community has organized a fundraiser to help TJ’s family cover all medical and funeral expenses during this difficult time and honor the legacy of the late TJ Jackson.
TJ will always be remembered in the community for his exceptional athletic skills and his kind nature.
