Klein, Texas Community Mourns 30-Year-Old Former Klein High and Blinn College Football Standout Othello Gibson, Survived by Parents Jeffrey and Kiki Carroll

The Klein (Houston), Texas community is mourning the untimely death of beloved native and standout athlete, Othello Gibson.

Othello Gibson passed away this week at an untimely age of 30; however, his family has not yet revealed the details surrounding his untimely death.

Born on December 17, 1994, in Houston, Texas, Othello Gibson began his athletic journey from a very young age, excelling in multiple sports.

Othello Gibson, a standout athlete from Klein, Texas, was a remarkable talent on the football field.

A 2013 graduate of Klein High School, he excelled as a running back for the Klein Varsity Football team, wearing jersey #22.

During his senior season in 2012, Gibson helped lead the team to a 6-5 record and a 5-3 finish in District 5-3, earning third place.

His performance earned him all-district recognition, and he achieved national recognition, ranking #1447 among his peers.

Beyond high school, Othello continued his athletic career at Blinn College, playing for the Buccaneers’ men’s football team.

He consistently demonstrated dedication, skill, and sportsmanship, leaving a lasting impact on his teammates, coaches, and the Klein community.

Although very little information is available about Othello Gibson’s professional journey, as he preferred to maintain a low profile, many of his loved ones are sharing his memories on social media and paying tribute to him.

One wrote:

“Othello was the best!! We loved him! A great person.. gone too soon 💔.”

Another added:

“Amen. A person who truly left an impression with everyone he met. Young man had a beautiful soul. Rest easy O.”

Othello Gibson is Survived By His Parents, Jeffrey and Kiki Carroll, Siblings, and The Entire Family

In addition to being an amazing athlete, Othello Gibson was also a great son to his parents, Jeffrey and Kiki Carroll.

While Jeffrey and Kiki Carroll haven’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of their beloved son, Othello Gibson, as they are currently grieving the loss, they often share pictures of him on social media expressing their love and pride.

His father, Jeffrey Carroll, is the CEO of Johnstone Supply-The Carroll Group in Spring, Texas, and his mother, Kiki McCall Carroll, serves as the company’s president.

Alongside his parents, Jeffrey and Kiki, Othello Gibson is survived by his brother, William Carroll, and his partner, Molly Carroll; his sister, Annie Potente, and her partner; his niece; his grandparents; and the entire family.

Like Othello, his brother, William Carroll, played football at Klein High School and now serves as a Corporate/Finance/Investment associate at King & Spalding in Houston, Texas.

William earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Financial Management from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Houston.

Othello Gibson’s family will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services. His contribution to the community as an athlete and his kind nature will always be remembered.
