The board voted unanimously to appoint him, marking a new chapter for the Wolves program.
Justin Bigham Shares Vision and Leadership as Lake Hamilton’s New Head Coach
Justin Bigham grew up in West Helena, Arkansas, where he played football at Ole Miss as a running back.
In 2011, as a sophomore, he appeared in 11 games and recorded one kick return, though it went for no yards.
The following season in 2012, as a junior, he played in 12 games and had two kick returns for 24 yards, averaging 12 yards per return.
Over his college career, he totaled 23 games played with three kick returns for 24 yards, averaging 8 yards per return, finishing with 24 all-purpose yards.
Later, he built his coaching career across Arkansas schools. His education focused on sports leadership and player development, which prepared him for his transition from player to coach.
Bigham’s coaching career spans several schools across Arkansas.
He made a strong impact at Gentry High School, leading the team to four straight playoff appearances.
Later, at Beebe High School, he was recognized for bringing a winning culture and discipline to the program.
He also served as an assistant and interim head coach at Mountain Home High School, where he gained further leadership experience before being chosen to lead Lake Hamilton.
His career reached a new milestone on January 9, 2026, when he was officially named head coach of Lake Hamilton High School during a board ceremony.
With years of playing experience, formal education in sports leadership, and a track record of achievements, Bigham now brings championship-level insight to the Wolves program.
In an interview with host Alyssa Orange on Varsity Vibe Arkansas, Coach Justin Bigham was asked about his first reactions after being offered the Lake Hamilton head football coach position.
He shared that his initial call was to his wife, reflecting both gratitude and excitement for the opportunity.
He explained that the administration’s strong vision and support were important because they showed a commitment to building a program rooted in values and long-term success, making the job offer unique in how it aligned with his philosophy.
When asked about his immediate priorities, he said his focus was on meeting with the coaching staff and players to build relationships and understand them as individuals.
He also described how lessons from past mentors, including Houston Nutt, shaped his coaching style.
On the topic of the 6A West conference, he acknowledged the challenges but emphasized that success comes from internal improvement rather than external competition.
Most importantly, he defined success as caring deeply for his players and helping them grow into “good, godly young men” through love, consistency, and presence.
