Erik Spoelstra and his ex-wife, Nikki Sapp, are proud parents of three children, Santiago, Dante, and Ruby.

Erik Spoelstra is a highly respected figure in professional basketball, currently serving as the head coach of the Miami Heat in the NBA.

He guided the Heat to multiple NBA Finals and two championships (2012, 2013).

Recently, Spoelstra has officially been appointed as the head coach of the United States men’s national basketball team, succeeding Steve Kerr.

He’ll lead the squad in the 2027 FIBA World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Erik Spoelstra Is A Devoted Father To Three Kids!

Erik Spoelstra was married to Nikki Sapp, a former Miami Heat cheerleader and art gallery director.

The two met during her time with the Heat dance squad and got married in 2016.

Nikki is also known for her work as a podcast host, where she discusses topics around motherhood, wellness, and personal growth.

Together, they have three children: two sons, Santiago (7), Dante (5), and a daughter, Ruby (3).

Nikki has occasionally shared glimpses of their parenting journey on social media and in interviews.

On May 15, 2026, she shared pictures of herself with her three kids.

In that respective post, she revealed that one of her sons, Santiago, had to undergo unexpected surgery for intussusception the day after her son turned four.

Later, the doctor discovered a mass that was later found to be Burkitt Lymphoma. Over the following months, he bravely went through chemotherapy, never losing his joy.

Nikki further shared how grateful she and her family are for the incredible care and love they received from the members of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

In 2026, Erik and Nikki filed for divorce after seven years of marriage.

Despite the separation, both Erik and Nikki have emphasized co-parenting and maintaining a supportive environment for their kids.

Nikki continues to engage publicly through her podcast and social media, often sharing insights on motherhood, wellness, and personal growth.
