Larry Allen Wilson, 72, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Born on June 13, 1953, to Carl and Dorothy Wilson, Larry lived a life shaped by his faith from a young age.

Larry Allen Wilson Dedicated Years to Coaching Baseball and Softball!

Larry graduated from Livingston County High School in 1971 and attended Barber College in Lexington, beginning a career that became his lifelong calling.

For 47 years, he owned and operated his barber shop, where conversations about Jesus and family filled the room.

He worked for the McCracken County School System from 1999 to 2026, serving as Truancy Coordinator, In-School Detention Proctor, and Director of Club Farley, while also serving on the McCracken County Board of Education, including a term as Chairman.

Moreover, Larry coached baseball and softball, umpired for KHSAA, and was active in his church as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.

His hobbies included hunting, genealogy, running half-marathons with his son Jeffrey, and showing his beloved 1976 Stepside Chevy “Blackie.”

He was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity and a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Above all, Larry was a devoted husband to Mary “Elaine” Wilson, father to twin sons Jeffrey (Katrina) and Michael (Nikki), and “Poppy” to his grandchildren Ellie and Nolan.

Larry’s passing left a void in his family and community, who knew him for his quiet generosity and joyful service.

He is survived by his wife Elaine, his sons and their families, his brother Lynn Wilson (Rebecca), many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends Gary & Sue and Tim & Kim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Wilson, and his younger brother, Terry Wilson.

The celebration of life and funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Similarly, visitations will take place on Friday, January 9, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, January 10, from 1:00 p.m. until the service.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Larry’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest in Peace, Larry!
