Dylan Alvidrez, a Chandler, Arizona native and standout collegiate basketball player, recently suffered a traumatic facial injury and is currently receiving emergency care.

According to a GoFundMe created by Dylan’s mother, Morgan McLane, the 18-year-old freshman student-athlete at Benedictine University in Mesa suffered a severe facial injury during a recent basketball game.

In a devastating accident on the court, Dylan Alvidrez face-planted, sustaining multiple fractures, a broken nose, and a split lip, with swelling so extreme that his eyes were temporarily swollen shut.

The incident has been both physically painful and emotionally overwhelming for Dylan and his family.

Following the injury, he received immediate emergency care, including imaging, stitches, and thorough evaluations to assess the full extent of the damage.

Dylan now faces two critical surgeries scheduled 4–6 weeks apart to repair internal facial fractures and reconstruct his nose.

The timing of the procedures—spanning December and January—adds a financial burden, as their insurance deductible resets, resulting in significant out-of-pocket expenses for surgeries, imaging, aftercare, and follow-up visits.

To ease the financial burden, Dylan’s mother, Morgan, has requested that the Arizona community donate to his recovery from his injuries. The fundraiser aims to accumulate $2k.

Friends, family, and the broader community are rallying to support Dylan during this challenging time, offering donations, prayers, and messages of encouragement to help him through his recovery.

Dylan Alvidrez is a 2026 Graduate of Seton Catholic High School

Dylan Alvidrez, a freshman guard at Benedictine University from Chandler, Arizona, is a 2026 graduate of Seton Catholic High School.

Standing 6-foot-2, Dylan played for the Seton Catholic Boys Varsity Basketball team, primarily in the positions of small forward (SF), power forward (PF), and center (C).

During his senior season, he appeared in 29 games, averaging 7.6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, under the guidance of former Redhawk MBB standout Carter Aby.

Throughout his high school career, Dylan earned recognition as Player of the Game three times—on December 10, 2026, January 4, 2026, and January 14, 2026.

His senior team finished with a 14-15 record, placing fourth in Region 4-6 and ranked #131 in the state, while his junior year saw a 19-10 record, third in Region 5-5, with a state ranking of #68.

Dylan’s dedication and performance in high school earned him a full basketball scholarship to continue his athletic journey at Benedictine University.

The entire community is praying for Dylan’s speedy recovery.
