A Boscobel, Wisconsin, mother says her first-grade son was punched in the stomach and thrown to the ground while defending a friend on the school playground.
She says the attack left her son with severe pain and a fever of nearly 103 degrees.
Angel Marie White says her son, Jax, intervened when a larger child bullied his classmate, Camdon.
According to White, the bigger child struck Jax in the stomach, then lifted him and threw him onto his back.
White discovered what happened later that night. The family had been home. The girls were painting.
Jax told his mother he felt sick and was holding his belly. White checked his temperature and found it close to 103 degrees. She gave him Tylenol and took him to the emergency room.
At the ER, an officer spoke with Jax while medical staff treated him. Jax does not know the name of the child who attacked him.
He told his mother he had stood up for a friend and was hurt for it.
Concerned Mother Demands an Answer
White’s post on social media questioned why the school had not informed her family.
She said she was frustrated that teachers did not alert parents. She asked where the adults who supervise the playground were.
The concerned mother also asked why two first graders could be injured, and the school appeared unaware.
Community reactions to the post show concern and anger. One commenter, Ky McKay, wrote:
“Ohh no! Is he okay? Everything okay? I’d be pressing charges on the school and the parents fr! I’m sorry you had to go through this.”
The comment reflects the questions White raised about accountability.
White’s account sticks to the facts as she knows them. She names her son and the friend he defended. She describes the sequence that led to the ER visit.
She says school staff did not notify the family and that she is demanding answers.
The post does not include a statement from school officials. It does not name the alleged attacker. It does not say whether the school has opened an internal investigation.
White said the officer at the ER spoke with her son, but she has not shared any further updates from law enforcement.
White’s primary concerns are clear. She wants transparency from the school. She wants to know why the staff did not report the incident.
She wants assurances that children will be safer on the playground.
For now, White says her focus is on Jax’s care and recovery. She says she wants the school to explain how the incident happened and why she was not notified.
Her post calls on school staff and parents to act so that other children do not get hurt for doing the right thing.
If the school or law enforcement issues a statement, White’s post suggests parents will push for accountability. Until then, she is demanding answers and watching her son recover.
