The small community of Victor, Iowa, is mourning the sudden loss of Camden Kennebeck, a former HLV high school athlete and dedicated worker who passed away on December 16, 2026, at the young age of 20.
His death has touched many lives, as seen in the emotional tributes pouring in from those who knew him best.
Camden grew up in Victor and was known for his athletic talents. He played basketball and football at HLV High School from 2026 to 2026.
He was also a standout in baseball, earning second-team all-district honors as a utility player and as a pitcher.
According to his Hudl bio, he recorded impressive stats on the mound, including 75 strikeouts in 46.2 innings pitched, with a 2.1 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP.
In the weight room, he bench pressed 185 pounds, squatted 275, deadlifted 405, and cleaned 185.
These achievements showed his dedication and strength both on and off the field.
After graduating from high school, Camden started working at Rohrer Bros and Victor Oil in 2026.
He lived in Victor, where he was born to his mother, Julie Knudsen Kennebeck.
He was raised alongside his sister, Jayden Kennebeck, who was also athletic and shared a close bond with him.

The news of Camden’s passing deeply affected his loved ones.
His sister Jayden shared a heartfelt post on Facebook that captured their sibling relationship perfectly.
She wrote about how much it hurts and that they weren’t done making memories together.
Camden, Cambo, Camden Joseph, CJ Kennebeck—my brother, my best friend, my world. I never said I love you enough,” she added, promising to cherish their 20 and a half years of memories. Jayden joked about still hiding the good snacks and stealing his charger, and reminded him to flush the toilet and clean up—even in heaven. She vowed to take care of their mom and said Camden would watch over them. Ending with a toast of Busch Light in his memory, she signed off, “Until we meet again, Cambo.”
Via FacebookFriends also poured out their grief.
Dylan Cunningham, who saw Camden as a little brother, wrote a long tribute remembering their hunting trips, late-night Xbox sessions on Call of Duty, and deep talks.
He described Camden as the one who could lighten any bad situation and make everyone’s day better with his big heart.
Dylan expressed regret for not knowing how Camden was feeling inside and apologized, saying whatever demons he fought were now at rest.
“I’ll truly cherish all of those times… This one will hurt for awhile. I miss ya. Until we meet again, friend. Rest in peace, brother.”
Via FacebookAnother friend, Tyler Vanderford, kept it simple but emotional:
“Until we meet again my friend, fly high Cambo, I love you.”
Via FacebookCamden is survived by his mother, his sister Jayden, his stepfather, and his stepsiblings.
The community has come together to offer condolences and support to the family during this difficult time.
Camden’s lively spirit, athletic passion, and ability to bring people together will be remembered by all who knew him.
He truly was the life of the party, and his absence leaves a big void in Victor. Rest in peace, Camden.
