Former Quad Cities sportscaster Jim Albracht passes away, leaving behind his wife, Meredith, and childrens.

At the time of his passing, Jim Albracht was living in Kansas City alongside his wife, Meredith.

While not much is known about his wife’s personal details, it is known that he lived many decades of a full and happy life with his beloved wife.

Jim’s friends and colleagues describe him as a devoted family man, so it is likely that he had children.

As of now, the details of his family life, including information about his children, are not publicly known, but he does appear to have a daughter named Madison, which is mentioned on his Facebook profile.

Jim had a fulfilling career as a broadcaster and was often in the spotlight, but his family life remained out of the media’s attention.

Jim Albracht Began His Broadcasting Journey From Local Sports!

Albracht was a native of the Quad Cities and grew up immersed in local sports culture

His broadcasting journey started at WQAD News 8, where he worked as a sportscaster covering regional teams and events

At WQUA, he hosted a show called “Sportsphone,” which by 1981 had expanded to air four nights a week for two and a half hours each night.

Over the years, his broadcasting extended beyond local radio/TV: he worked with the Iowa Hawkeye Radio Network and did play-by-play for the Quad City Steamwheelers.

Later in his career, he returned to radio broadcasting, hosting programs such as “Albracht in the AM” on WOC, demonstrating his longevity and adaptability across media.

Having a career in multiple fields, Jim managed to leave his mark everywhere, with his colleagues and fellow teammates mourning his loss.

Following his passing, many have expressed their grief on social media, with one of his admirers on Facebook writing:

Extremely sad to hear this news. Chelo and I send our condolences to Meredith and the entire family. Jim was an absolute legend both professionally and personally. He was a good friend. We shared some fun moments and talks together. He was a prime example on how to enjoy life. Always had that pep in his step that I loved to see. Thank you Jim! thinking about someone special.

Now that Jim has left the world at the age of 75, he is survived by his wife, children, and all who knew him.

While his family and friends take time to grieve, we express our heartfelt condolences to everyone who knew Jim.
