Daniel Willard Smith, a graduate of South Davidson High School, has tragically passed away.

He was born on May 20, 1973, in Oscoda, Michigan, to his father, Danny Smith, and his mother, Myra Deaton Smith.

Smith graduated from South Davidson High School in 1991.

He loved going to the beach, fishing, racing, and watching sports. He was a Foreman for the Pipe Fitting Union.

Community Is Mourning The Tragic Death Of Daniel Willard Smith

The sources confirmed that Daniel Willard Smith died on March 14, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem.

However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

Briggs Funeral Home took to their official Facebook handle to announce the tragic news.

Melissa Kears, a graduate of Farmer High School, took to the comment section and mourned the loss of Daniel.

Teresa Salley, a graduate of Asheboro High School, wrote,

Other close ones and relatives have offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Daniel’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

As per Daniel’s family, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Moses officiating.

A visitation will be held before the memorial service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home.

Instead of flowers, the family has requested to send donations to the South Davidson High School Athletic Boosters Club, P.O. Box 1223, Denton, N.C. 27239.

Rest in Peace, Daniel Willard Smith.
