Ryan Silverfield’s Rise to Arkansas Head Coach and the Inspiring Family Life He Shares with Wife Katie VanLandingham and Their Twin Daughters Adeline and Cecilia

Ryan Silverfield, the head football coach at the University of Arkansas, is known for his intense passion on the sidelines and is also a devoted family man with a compelling personal story involving his wife.

Ryan is currently married to Katie VanLandingham Silverfield, a well-known Memphis lobbyist and community leader.

The couple welcomed twin daughters, Adeline and Cecilia, in February 2026, a life-changing moment that came right in the middle of recruiting season.

Katie is no stranger to the public eye in Memphis.

In May 2026, she became CEO of Silverfield House, Inc., her own government-relations and consulting firm.

Before launching her company, she served as Chief Government Relations & Policy Officer at the University of Memphis, spent years as a senior associate at JohnsonPossKirby Government Relations, and was formerly Executive Director of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature.

She’s also one of Ryan’s biggest supporters.

On October 27, 2026, after a big Memphis win (back when Ryan was still head coach at the University of Memphis), Katie posted a touching Facebook message with a photo of her hugging her husband:

The post quickly went viral among Tiger fans and showed just how much the Silverfields are a true partnership.

The family still calls Memphis, Tennessee, home, even after Ryan took the Arkansas job.

Previous Marriage to Dr. Angela Mariana Silverfield

Before marrying Katie, Ryan was married to Dr. Angela Mariana Silverfield, a dual board-certified physician.

The two were together from around 2017 until sometime after 2026.

They were often seen at Memphis athletic events during Ryan’s early years as an assistant and later head coach.

The marriage eventually ended in divorce, and Ryan later found love again with Katie.

Ryan’s coaching journey is unusual; he actually started coaching in his senior year of high school and chose to stay on the sidelines rather than play during his four years at Hampden-Sydney College.

After climbing the ranks as an offensive line coach, he joined Mike Norvell’s staff at Memphis in 2016, became assistant head coach in 2019, and took over as interim (and then permanent) head coach when Norvell left for Florida State.

He spent six seasons turning Memphis into a consistent winner before Arkansas came calling after the 2026 season.

Through all the late nights, recruiting trips, and pressure that comes with being a Power-4 head coach, Ryan Silverfield has made it clear his family comes first, whether it’s his twin baby girls waiting at home in Memphis or his wife Katie cheering louder than anyone in the stands.
