Quuncy Artis, a concerned parent, posted on his Facebook to raise awareness about an alleged bullying incident involving his son at Peoria High School.
In his post, he questioned the school’s handling of the situation.
He pointed out that the student accused of bullying his son skipped school the next day but was allowed to attend a football game.
Artis expressed frustration over the school’s inconsistent response and lack of consequences.
He stated that despite claims of an investigation, the student returned to school without any disciplinary action.
Additionally, he highlighted troubling behavior from freshman coaches, including one who allegedly called a student a “snitch” for reporting the incident.
Parents Publicly Accused Peoria School Of Failing To Address A Bullying Incident!
In a detailed post, Artis revealed that the parent of the student involved and Coach Dixon tried to shift blame by claiming his son was the aggressor.
The mother of the accused student refused to apologize. She voiced concern about her son’s reputation being damaged, while Artis urged her to consider the emotional toll on his own child.
He also pointed out a history of bullying by the same student, including an alleged incident where he hit a disabled student at Rolling Acres.
Furthermore, Artis accused the coaches of tolerating such behavior, noting that one coach admitted he could be fired for addressing it.
Despite a parent meeting, the students involved in the bullying were still attending school without repercussions.
Artis questioned whether the administration only takes bullying seriously when it threatens athletic performance.
Also, he raised concerns about drug use among players, saying:
I wonder if the school has a policy of drug testing players, given the prevalence of vaping in the school and at games.
He ended his post by saying:
I want the news to be aware or this.I bet that student at school today what if he attacks my son cuse his mom mad he mad. Yall thought I was gonna be quiet.
In a follow-up post, Artis shared more details about the case and the investigations.
He said the school administration gave conflicting reports about the investigation’s status; one principal said it was completed, while another said it wasn’t.
The school allegedly tried to shift blame onto his son, claiming he misbehaved on the bus and provoked others.
Artis demanded video evidence to clarify the truth, stating he would hold his son accountable if proven guilty, but emphasized that without evidence, the school was making a serious mistake.
He also reported the coaches’ behavior to the police, citing violations of the code of conduct.
Artis stressed that multiple children have come forward with similar bullying complaints.
Many people responded to Artis’s post with empathy and shared their own experiences.
One commenter wrote,
My daughter went through same thing. 2boys kept hitting her and the same principle you spoke to is the one who just looked at me like I was dumb for expressing my frustration. so she went to online school.😤😢
Another added,
I’m so sorry you are dealing with that. Your son is the sweetest. I pray they resolve this. No child deserves to be bullied.
Every parent is deeply concerned about their child’s safety, whether at school, in sports, or in any environment.
Every concern raised by parents, students, and community members deserves a thorough and transparent investigation.
Bullying, whether by peers or authority figures, must be addressed swiftly and seriously.
