Mountain Home athletics continues to gain momentum as its football, track, and cross country programs build on recent success and prepare for an even stronger future.
That message came through clearly during a recent Thursday meeting of the Mountain Home Rotary, where members of the Mountain Home High School coaching staff shared updates on accomplishments, expectations, and the culture driving the programs forward.
Mountain Home has experienced athletic success for decades, but recent developments signal a new level of competitiveness—especially in football.
The program has transformed from a routine opponent into a team that other schools hesitate to schedule.
Last season delivered standout results and reinforced the program’s growing reputation across the state.
While the team graduated more than 20 seniors, the coaching staff has embraced a clear philosophy moving into next fall: “next man up.” The foundation remains strong, and the expectations remain high.
The rise in football mirrors continued excellence in track and cross country.
Both programs have consistently performed well over the years, but recent seasons have produced record-breaking performances and renewed ambition.
Athletes continue to raise the standard, and coaches expect that momentum to carry into the upcoming season.
The commitment across all three programs reflects a shared focus on discipline, preparation, and long-term development.
The Rotary meeting featured key figures behind this progress, including Athletic Director Mitch Huskey, Head Football Coach Steve Ary, and Track and Cross Country Coach Noah Chagnon.
For longtime residents, the Huskey name represents deep roots in the Mountain Home community, reinforcing the strong connection between the school’s athletic programs and the town itself.
Mountain Home’s success does not come by chance. The coaching staff emphasized the impact of improved weight programs, increased dedication from athletes, and a culture that demands accountability.
Strength training has reached another level, and athletes have fully bought into the process.
As the football program continues to grow, there is even optimism about building more size up front—adding bigger, stronger players to complement the speed and skill already on the roster.
State championships are not new to Mountain Home, and many in the community have witnessed them firsthand.
What stands out now is the sense that the programs continue to get stronger, deeper, and more unified.
With committed coaches, driven athletes, and strong community support, Mountain Home athletics appears poised to set even higher standards in the seasons ahead.
For fans and supporters, the message is simple: now is the time to get out, watch these athletes and coaches in action, and be part of a program that is clearly on the rise.
