A mother spoke out online after her 15-year-old daughter refused to attend school following a painful bullying incident involving classmates and former friends.

The post, shared by Lesley McKenzie in a Facebook group focused on stopping bullying in schools, quickly drew attention from other parents who shared similar experiences and words of support.

As per McKenzie, her daughter had always been a cheerful and energetic teenager who enjoyed spending time with her close circle of friends.

The group consisted of five girls who had grown close over time, sharing secrets and trusting one another.

However, that sense of trust was broken when two members of the group allegedly shared private information that had been told to them in confidence.

McKenzie said the information was spread across a wider year group at school, leaving her daughter humiliated and deeply hurt.

She also said that some of the claims circulating among students were not true, which made the situation even more upsetting for her daughter.

The mother explained that the sudden change in her daughter’s emotional state has been heartbreaking to witness.

She wrote that just a week earlier, her daughter had been happily planning her future with her friends.

Now, the teenager refuses to go to school and has struggled to return for four consecutive days.

McKenzie described how devastating it is to see her daughter withdraw at a time in life when friendships and peer relationships mean so much.

She explained that teenagers often view their friends as their entire world, making social conflicts especially painful.

The concerned parent said she has already spoken with the parents of the girls involved. One of them was supportive and understanding about the situation, but the other parents appeared to defend their own daughter and suggested that whatever may have been said by McKenzie’s daughter justified the reaction.

McKenzie also reached out to the school’s head teacher, who said he has been responsive and understanding.

The school has offered some temporary adjustments, including time off and a possible timetable change.

However, she noted that the options are limited because the girls share many of the same classes.

As the post circulated online, many parents shared their own stories about children dealing with bullying and social exclusion at school.

One commenter, Merry Mel, said she had faced a similar situation with her own child.

The same with my kid. I had to take him out three months before graduation because of bullying. The school seems to favor the bullies over the victims, making the victims look like they’re the bad people. These bullies, rage bait, and then they hold it all in and then they screamed for help only to be ignored.

Another parent, Daniela Fusari, shared that her daughter also experienced painful rejection from a group of friends.

It hurts so much to hear this my daughter went through the same , all her group of friends is ignoring her since October just because she likes taylor swift , when I tried to confront the mother I just made things worst , she also said things for my daughter wouldn’t be civil. Friends for 4 years were describing my daughter like some kind of pervert but former classmates and teachers were all saying my daughter is not at all like they describe her and being a single mom with no help what so ever I Know my daughter !

Other commenters offered practical suggestions for dealing with bullying.

Some recommended activities, such as martial arts, help children build confidence and discipline.

Natalie Elias wrote that she had been considering enrolling her children in karate after hearing similar stories from other parents.

Several people also encouraged McKenzie to keep documenting the situation and work closely with school administrators to find solutions.
