Craig Braxton Barry, a former Team USA U21 basketball player, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2026.

He chose Trinity University to better himself in his education and his athletic abilities.

Braxton Barry had successfully balanced high-level academics and athletics, building a strong foundation for a career in accounting.

He pursued a master’s degree in accounting from Trinity University. His excellence earned him spots on both the SCAC Academic Honor Roll and the NABC Honors Court.

He had gained valuable professional experience through an internship at EY, CVR Energy, and Monaco Enterprises.

On the basketball court, Braxton was equally accomplished and helped his team become SCAC Regular Season Champions and make two appearances in the NCAA Playoffs.

Moreover, he represented Team USA at the FIBA 3×3 Tournament in China during the summer of 2026.

The main reason why I chose Trinity University is because I feel welcomed and a part of a family and community of people who all have the same goals in life and strive to be the best version of themselves.

Craig Braxton Barry’s Unexpected Passing Stuns Community

Craig Braxton Barry was a beloved son and brother who passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2026.

The obituary site Legacy announced his tragic demise with profound sorrow.

Braxton Barry was the son of Craig and Nada Barru and shared an unbreakable bond with his sibling, Amber. He was born in a close-knit Houston family.

His extraordinary athleticism was clear from a young age, which led him to represent his country as a member of Team USA’s U21 basketball team.

His athletic prowess on the court was remarkable, but his true spirit was defined by the joy he found in simple connections and everyday passions.

Braxton was an avid competitor and thrived in any active sport. He brought the same energy to friendly video game rivalries and cherished every moment spent in the company of friends.

As a student at Trinity University, he was often found at his favorite campus haunt, Steam and Shake, sharing meals and laughter.

He was a proud enthusiast of anime and carried his favorite pink color as a bright and confident signature of his unique personality.

Braxton Barry’s sudden departure has created a profound void in the hearts of his family, his countless friends, and the broader Houston community that celebrated his journey.

The Barry family will soon announce details for a memorial service to celebrate his remarkable life.

Rest In Peace, Craig Braxton Barry.
