The Atlanta, Georgia, community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Kamani Reswan Holland, a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend.

While the details surrounding Kamani Holland’s untimely death have not yet disclosed by the family, many of his loved ones are sharing his memories on social media and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Born on September 27, 2006, in Dallas, Georgia, Kamani Holland was deeply loved by everyone who knew him for his warmth, charm, and the ability to make people feel seen and cared for.

Described by his family as a “big teddy bear at heart,” Kamani was as kind and caring as he was talented.

Though he could appear tough on the outside, his family says his love and light touched everyone around him. He had a unique way of bringing people together and leaving a lasting impression on all who met him.

Kamani excelled in athletics, playing football and basketball at Langston Hughes High School, where he was admired for his skill, determination, and teamwork.

His athleticism and love for sports continued into college, where he was pursuing his athletic career while inspiring those around him both on and off the field.

The Holland family expressed their gratitude to the community for respecting their privacy during this difficult time.

“We needed space to grieve privately before making a public announcement, and your patience, understanding, and respect have meant more to us than words can express.”

They also shared that a fundraiser has been created in Kamani’s honor and memory to support causes close to his heart.

Kamani is survived by his beloved parents, Donnie Holland Jr. and Marquita Terry, his siblings, and the entire family.

His mother, Marquita, took to social media to pay tribute to her late son, Kamani Holland, and wrote:

“I want to thank each and every one of you for the overwhelming love and support. It truly means so much to me and our family. Kamani was pure joy. When he was born, he didn’t cry at all the doctor actually had to spank him, and even then, he only let out the weakest little cry 🤣🤣. After sleeping for about three hours, I walked over to his bassinet and saw him wide awake, just staring at the light. That moment stayed with me throughout my life, and I’ve thought about it so often.”

A public visitation for Kamani will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Greener Pastures Funeral Home, 4405 Marietta Street, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.

The family has invited anyone with photos or videos of Kamani to share them, so these memories can be included in his service as a celebration of his life.

The community continues to offer thoughts, prayers, and support to the Holland family during this unimaginably difficult time.

Kamani’s legacy of love, kindness, and athletic excellence will continue to be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
