Zach Gordon is a dedicated attorney specializing in IP and business law at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, a renowned Midwest law firm.

He primarily handles trademark disputes and patent infringement cases, as well as corporate contracts, which are entirely different from his wife’s work.

Previously, he worked as an associate with Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione in Chicago. He earned his B.A. from Southern Methodist University (2005) and his J.D. from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University (2009).

While Carlie Irsay-Gordon has been actively involved in the Colts organization, serving in various roles since 2008, Zach Gordon has maintained a relatively low-profile career in law and real life for decades.

But has been very supportive of her wife, whether it be contributing to the Colts with his law firm or helping her with charity works.

Family Legacy Continues

Carlie officially took the role of CEO and principal owner of the Colts on June 9, 2026, following the passing of her father.

From being part of the Irsay family to being the one to continue the legacy of the Irsay Family, the Indianapolis Colts, Carlie has come a long way, made possible by the love and support of her husband and family.

Way before her official executive roles, she represented the Colts at league meetings, providing insights into NFL policies and much more.

Her formal role at Colts began in 2008, when she handled business decisions and team strategy.

Over the years, with experience and expertise, she was appointed as the Chair of the Indianapolis Colts in 2014, until her role changed after her father’s passing.

Under her leadership, the team has achieved a 7–1 record, marking their best start since the 2009 season and the top record in the NFL through Week 8. They will at least aim to reach the play-offs this season.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • Robert Irsay, Carlie’s grandfather, purchased the Colts in 1972 and established the family’s NFL legacy.
  • Robert’s son, Carlie’s father, took over the Colts in 1997 and served as owner and CEO until his passing in 2026.
  • Carlie’s two sisters, Casey Foyt (Executive Vice President) and Kalen Jackson (Chief Brand Officer, are also the co-owners of the NFL team.
