James Fieser, a senior standout at Liberal High School (Class of 2026), is serving as a proven leader this basketball season after averaging 15 points per game last year and earning First Team All-Conference honors.

He’s determined to elevate his team in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) with his scoring ability and offseason dedication.

During the 2026–26 basketball season, Fieser emerged as a central figure for the Liberal Redskins, consistently leading the team in scoring and contributing across multiple areas.

He was officially named the Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week by KSCB Radio News.

In a recent matchup against Garden City, Fieser poured in 24 points, keeping his team competitive in a narrow 74–71 loss.

He delivered several standout performances, including a 32-point game in a dominant win over Wichita North.

During the KSCB Radio News Athlete of the Week interview, James Fieser was asked by the announcer,

This is your senior basketball season. What part of your game do you feel like you really improved upon the most to help yourself and the team out here?

In response, Fieser explained,

I feel like being a leader… being a senior that plays a lot, I can go get in the rim, go get a layup.

Beyond basketball, Fieser has also built a strong reputation as a multi-sport athlete.

He is a standout in football, where he earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors as a receiver.

His football season was equally impressive, as he caught 67 passes for 940 yards and scored 15 touchdowns, helping the Redskins to a strong 7–3 record.

Fieser’s performances have earned him multiple forms of recognition at the local and regional levels.

He has been named a “Player to Watch” in preseason coverage.

Additionally, he was selected as Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week in January 2026 after averaging strong scoring and rebounding numbers over a key stretch of games.

Fieser’s involvement doesn’t stop with athletics. He is also active in track, adding speed and endurance to his athletic profile.

Off the field and court, he participates in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS).
