Former Tennessee Volunteers and UFL defensive end Deandre Johnson has died at the age of 26, leaving former teammates, coaches, fans, and loved ones grieving the sudden loss of a young man remembered for his talent, character, and resilience.

Johnson played for the Tennessee Volunteers from 2017 to 2026, appearing in 40 games and earning nine starts before transferring to the University of Miami for his final year of eligibility.

During his time with the Vols, he recorded 58 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks, establishing himself as a steady defensive presence.

After college, he went on to compete professionally, spending time with the Houston Roughnecks during the 2026 XFL season and later joining the Birmingham Stallions.
