Enka High School football senior Izaiah Smith Sheridan, 18, has been arrested on first-degree murder charges in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

According to those close to him, Izaiah was forced into a life-changing decision to protect himself and even the very parents who had failed him.

Supporters describe him as a young man with a kind heart and a bright future, someone who was preparing to graduate, earn his driver’s license, and step into adulthood.

Instead of preparing for graduation and the next steps in his young life, he now faces a legal battle that could determine his future.

Izaiah Sheridan Was Arrested And is Facing Murder Charges!

Ashleigh Berry took to Facebook to share a heartfelt post alongside a GoFundMe campaign “Donate to Defend Izaiah Sheridan’s Future” created for Izaiah’s legal defense.

In her message, she emphasized the weight Izaiah has carried from a young age, saying:

Izaiah has the kindest heart, the sweetest soul, and he deserves a chance at a real future. He deserves fairness. He deserves to be seen for the truth of what happened. He should not be facing a first-degree murder charge for something that was clearly self-defense.

Berry emphasized that he is not a murderer but a good kid with good grades, friends, and a bright future ahead.

In another post, she said:

Such a sweet kid, dealt a rough hand. Don’t judge if you don’t know the full story and consider helping because if anyone deserves a fighting chance, it’s this kid. If you can’t help then share, share, share but every dollar will help

In her post, Berry urged the community to support by donating or sharing, noting that Izaiah was a good student, a football player, and a close friend of her son Jaxon.

The GoFundMe campaign itself reflected that Izaiah is not a murderer but a good kid with “nothing but good intentions and the biggest heart.”

This fundraiser was created because Izaiah has not yet been able to share his side of the story with the police, as he needs a lawyer to represent him.

His family explained that they are urgently reaching out to friends, relatives, and even strangers to help raise money for legal defense.

As the case unfolds, Izaiah Sheridan’s future now hinges on whether the courts accept his family’s plea that the tragedy was an act of self‑defense.
