Kyle Stanfield, longtime Chief Operating Officer of the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA), passed away in November 2026.
Eastern Oregon Sports recently shared the news of Kyle Stanfield’s passing, noting that he was one of two individuals connected to high school sports who died in the past two weeks.
In their official post, they remembered Kyle as a dedicated professional with the OSAA, stating:
Kyle Stanfield worked for the OSAA, was married and leaves behind two young boys. You can find his story on the attached article we linked to this posting. As EOS deals with OSAA frequently, Kyle was the utmost professional, always taking time to answer our questions and listen to our concerns. Our thoughts go out to his family, his coworkers at OSAA and all the people Kyle touched throughout his life.
Additionally, they acknowledged his personal life, mentioning that he was married and had left behind two young sons.
Further, they paid tribute, stating:
Our thoughts go out to his family, his coworkers at OSAA and all the people Kyle touched throughout his life.
Kyle Stanfield Served As The OSAA For 18 Years!
Kyle Stanfield, who passed away last week, was the Chief Operating Officer of the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA).
He grew up in Klamath Falls, graduated from Henley High School, and later from Oregon State University in 2006.
Kyle joined OSAA in 2007 and spent nearly two decades helping guide and grow high school sports and activities across Oregon.
He was admired for his leadership, kindness, and dedication to student-athletes.
Kyle married his wife, Kelly, in 2013. She has been an elementary school teacher for more than 17 years.
Together, they have two young sons who were Kyle’s greatest source of motivation during his long battle with cancer, which he faced bravely since being diagnosed in 2017.
A month before his passing, his wife, Kelly, shared on Kyle’s LinkedIn profile that after a two‑week hospital stay, doctors had determined his cancer had progressed beyond available treatments.
She explained that Kyle had returned home, allowing the family to focus on care and quality time together rather than undergoing further medical interventions.
Further, she expressed gratitude for the support they had received and asked for continued love and prayers during that difficult chapter.
Kyle’s passing left a void in the Oregon high school sports community, the OSAA family, and most deeply within his own home.
He battled bravely with cancer for eight years, from 2017 until his passing in 2026, facing every challenge with hope and gratitude.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Kyle Stanfield’s family, friends, and well-wishers.
Rest In Peace, Kyle!
