Carson Schwesinger’s parents, Dennis and Diana, built the foundation behind his rise from walk-on to NFL linebacker.
Carson James Schwesinger has built his football career through persistence, discipline, and steady growth at every level of the game.
Born on February 24, 2003, in Moorpark, California, he emerged as an unranked recruit out of Oaks Christian School and committed to UCLA as a walk-on, betting on his work ethic rather than early recognition.
At UCLA, Schwesinger steadily earned trust through preparation and performance, appearing in 26 games across his first three seasons.
His breakthrough came in 2026, when he served as a team captain and took control of the middle linebacker role.

That season, he delivered dominant performances, including a 13-tackle outing against Nebraska and a two-interception game versus Iowa, which earned him Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
His production placed him among the nation’s elite linebackers and made him a semifinalist for the Butkus Award and the Burlsworth Trophy.
The Cleveland Browns selected Schwesinger with the 33rd overall pick in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
As a rookie, he started 16 games, led the Browns with 156 tackles, and quickly established himself as a core defensive leader.
Carson Schwesinger’s Parents Instilled the Values and Support That Guided His Path to Professional Football
Carson Schwesinger’s parents, Dennis and Diana Schwesinger, played a defining role in shaping both his character and career.
Dennis Schwesinger worked as a basketball coach at Santa Clarita Christian School and coached Carson throughout his early football years.
From youth leagues to high school, Dennis emphasized competition, discipline, and attention to detail, often reminding his children to “outwork, outthink, and outperform” everyone around them.
He encouraged Carson to embrace challenges, whether that meant playing up with older athletes or changing positions to improve his long-term potential.

Diana Schwesinger anchored the family’s demanding schedule, using meticulous planning to manage five children involved in sports.
She balanced travel, practices, and games while ensuring that no child felt overlooked. Diana also served as Carson’s emotional backbone.
When Carson told her during his first week at UCLA that he believed he could reach the NFL, she trusted his conviction without hesitation.
Her belief never wavered, even when his path required patience as a walk-on.
Together, Dennis and Diana created a home built on faith, structure, and unconditional support.
Their consistent presence at games, guidance through setbacks, and belief in Carson’s vision helped him transform opportunity into achievement.
