Micah Bautist, a Central High School wrestler, placed in the Warrior Classic despite being ejected from a bus and landing 30ft from it two weeks prior.

After he won the Arapahoe Warrior Invitational 120-pound championship, the Central High School wrestling team was involved in the unfortunate incident.

Micah Bautist is a name to know in Central High School athletics.

He is a dedicated student and wrestler, training rigorously under the guidance of Head Coach Clint Trujillo and his older brother, Assistant Coach Alex Bautista.

Moreover, he works at The Salty Spitoon.

Micah has developed his skills and discipline within a tight-knit team environment. His mentorship has shaped him into a determined competitor on the mat.

Juggling school, sport, and work is no easy feat, but for the young wrestler, it’s all part of the grind.

Central High Wrestler Overcomes Wild Bus Crash, Dominates Tournament

Just over two weeks before the 48th Warrior Classic wrestling tournament, the Central High School wrestling team was involved in a frightening accident.

While returning from a competition, the wrestling team bus was involved in an unfortunate incident, violently ejecting Micah Bautista from the vehicle and sending him flying 30 feet away.

Miraculously, Micah escaped with only minor injuries.

His focus never wavered from the upcoming Warrior Classic, a tournament that pits wrestlers from all four classifications based on student enrollment to wrestle outside their category.

Often, wrestlers from rural areas are up to the task of taking on their urban foes.

Micah showed incredible resilience and took to the mat at his home tournament. He battled through a tough 32-man bracket at 120 pounds, ultimately placing sixth.

He’s one tough kiddo… ejected from a bus and landed 30ft from it two weeks prior and still placing in the Warrior Classic. His older brother and Assistant Coach Alex Bautista along with Head Coach Clint Trujillo work with him from mat side and cheer him on as he gets the win in this match by decision in the end of the 3rd period 9-6.

The young athlete proved his toughness. Even a traumatic bus crash couldn’t keep him from competing and dominating at the Warrior Classic.

Similarly, his teammate, Eli Hernandez, who was not involved in the crash, won the second Warrior title and was voted the tournament’s upper weights outstanding wrestler.
