Berea-Midpark High School’s Unified Sports program continues to make a powerful impact on students by bringing together friendship, fun, and teamwork in a welcoming athletic environment.

Students involved in the program consistently describe Unified Sports as more than just games and practices—it serves as a space where everyone feels valued, supported, and included.

Through shared experiences on the court, students build meaningful connections while learning from one another every day.

Delaney, who spoke with several participants, captured the spirit of the program through their voices.

Many students highlighted how much they enjoy playing alongside one another and embracing the joy that comes with teamwork.

Some said they love being able to play sports together, whether it’s basketball or other activities, while others enjoy coaching and encouraging their teammates.

One student shared that dribbling the basketball and hearing the bell adds excitement to the game, while another said watching teammates play and learning from them stands out as a favorite part of the experience.

Friendship remains at the heart of Unified Sports. Multiple students emphasized how the program helps them make new friends and strengthen existing bonds.

One participant summed it up simply by saying their favorite part is “actually everything.

Others expressed how much they love playing in games together and how the shared fun makes each moment memorable.

For many, Unified Sports creates a sense of belonging that extends beyond practices and competitions.

Students also spoke about the positive energy the program brings to their school day. One participant said playing with Unified Sports teammates brightens their day and reminds them why inclusion matters.

Through laughter, teamwork, and mutual respect, Berea-Midpark High School’s Unified Sports program continues to foster an environment where students grow together, celebrate differences, and prove that sports can unite everyone through friendship and joy.
