Annie Roberts alleges that her daughter’s basketball coach called her and told her that the team couldn’t play in the house with the park anymore unless he gives up Kensley or one other player.
Kensley has been playing basketball since she was 4.
Kensley Frye was an athlete from the age of 3.
She has tried cheerleading and volleyball, but it’s on the basketball court that she’s found her latest challenge. She won’t complain about being tired or sore, but struggles with doubt, wondering if she’s good enough.
Kensley is a tremendous athlete and an even better person. She plays through sickness and gives 100% effort every single time, determined to show up for her coaches and teammates.
On top of her busy sports schedule, she also manages to keep her grades up.
I’m super proud of my kid, and if, for some reason, she decides it’s time to hang up her poms, her basketball and volleyball shoes and cleats, I will stand behind her on her decision as long as it is what she wants and not because of what people have said or done to her!

Youth Basketball Team Disbanded After Just Two Games: Parents Cry Foul
A youth basketball team in Alabama has been removed from its local “in-house” league after two games, following complaints from opponents about skilled players.
The decision has sparked outrage from Annie Roberts, who says her daughter, Kensley, is being unfairly punished for being good at the sport.
According to Roberts, the coach was told the team could no longer participate unless he removed Kensley or another specific player from the roster.
Other teams complained after losing, specifically citing Kensley and a couple of her teammates as being “hard to handle.”
Come on now! These are just kids wanting to play!
Annie RobertsRoberts points out thar her daughter has played basketball since the age of four, and all coaches were aware of her experience levels before the season.
She also notes that other teams have players of the same age who played travel ball.
Make it make sense! So, punish kids because y’all are getting beat? What are yall teaching these kids? If you can’t beat a team, then complain til they can’t play???? Come on, do better!!!!
Annie RobertsRoberts emphasized that Kensley didn’t even see extensive playing time on her middle school team, arguing the reaction is disproportionate.
League officials have not yet made a public statement on the specific allegations.
