Jeremy “Tank” Rosales, the SoCal Trojans youth football team player, passed away in a fatal shooting near Mojave Vista Park on Friday night, January 16, 2026.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says no arrests have been made in the case.
Jeremy was only 14 years old when he was fatally shot near Mojave Vista Park on Friday night. The incident occurred at approximately 8:21 p.m.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department received multiple calls reporting gunfire in the area of Glen Canyon Lane and Burwood Avenue.
Upon arrival, deputies found Jeremy Rosales in the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail is investigating, and further details about suspects or a motive have not been released at this time.
Friends and family have begun sharing memories of Jeremy on social media, expressing their shock and heartbreak over the sudden loss of the young teen.

Jeremy was more than a football player for the SoCal Trojans youth team and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was a family that always lifted others and embodied what it truly meant to be part of a team. His character and spirit made his parents immeasurably proud.
Mom is so proud of you, son! Every single sacrifice has been worth the journey. Continue to work hard and remember the sky is the limit.
Lola GarciaJeremy is survived by his devoted mother, Lola Garcia of Norwalk, California.
Lola was a 1997 graduate of John Glenn High School and celebrated her marriage on September 9, 2026. She called her partner her soulmate, best friend, and protector.
Moreover, Lola often encouraged her son to push forward, sharing his athletic journey and triumphs on social media with an unwavering pride and love.
A candlelight memorial honoring Jeremy “Tank” Rosales is scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at TESA (High Desert), located at 12221 Poplar Ave. #19, in Hesperia.
In this time of profound grief, the family is receiving an outpouring of support. Rayman Martinez launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family with unexpected costs.
All funds raised will go directly to Jeremy’s family to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, easing a small part of the immense burden they carry.
Jeremy “Tank” Rosales lived a brief life, but the memory of his smile, strength, and loving heart will forever be held by his family and friends.
