A 14-Year-Old Was Hit in Class in Tonkawa Oklahoma: Teacher Hoemann Did It, Coach Kale Dice Saw It, and No One Reported the Abuse
Slapping or any physical violence is never justified in schools.

On November 20th, a disturbing incident unfolded at Tonkawa Middle School when Special Education teacher Katherine Hoemann slapped a 14-year-old student inside a classroom.
As per the witness, the child was not even her student; he had simply entered to grab a pencil and failed to push in a chair.
Witnessing the act was Coach Kale Dice, who reportedly laughed and did not report the abuse to administrators, DHS, or law enforcement.
Principal Reinhart was informed the same day, yet Hoemann continued teaching until December 1st.
This delay in action has been described as a systemic failure, raising serious questions about accountability and the legal obligations of staff to report child abuse, which is considered a felony in Oklahoma.

Community Demands Accountability After Tonkawa Classroom Abuse!
The incident was brought to public attention through a Facebook post by Guerrilla Publishing’s Ron Durbin, who shared the story with urgency and outrage.
His post highlighted the seriousness of the teacher’s actions, the failure of Coach Dice to report, and the administration’s delay in removing Hoemann from the classroom.
Durbin framed the situation as a broader issue of institutional negligence, demanding accountability.
Moreover, he urged parents to pay attention to what is being allowed within Tonkawa schools.
He concluded his post with a call to action: to support the student and his mother, to share the story widely.
Further, he said:
SUPPORT THE MOM. SUPPORT THIS STUDENT. SHARE THIS EVERYWHERE.
Make sure Hoemann and anyone who covers for abuse never works around kids again.
The post sparked strong reactions from the community, with commenters sharing their points of view and highlighting their concerns.
One person said,
“Exactly why there should be cameras in all classrooms. Cameras would get the whole story about what happened and not a snippet from a cell phone. This clip definitely makes the teacher look bad but that’s probably not the whole story.”
Another shared their perspective, saying,
“She’s a special education teacher! She teaches kids that are vulnerable to abuse. If she treats a regular kid like this, what’s happening in her classroom. No adult should be putting their hands on children. Period!”
Others expressed frustration with systemic patterns, noting,
“Even with this video she will still have supporters who say ‘but what did the student do to make her hit him’ 🙄 why do Oklahoma schools all seem to sweep abuse under the rug?”
Physical aggression undermines trust between students and educators and violates child protection laws.
This case demands a thorough investigation, and the authorities must take decisive action to ensure accountability and protect students.
Even if a student makes a mistake or fails to follow rules, physical violence is never the solution.
