A heartbreaking plea has spread through central Michigan communities as family, friends, and locals search for Nayomie Bissell, a 17-year-old student and varsity volleyball player who has been missing since December 22, 2026.

Nayomie, a resident of the Big Rapids area, was last seen in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and her loved ones are urgently asking for the public’s help in bringing her home safely.

Nayomie attends Chippewa Hills High School, where she is a dedicated member of the varsity volleyball team.

She proudly wears jersey #6 and plays as a defensive specialist (DS) and quarterback position (QP), roles that highlight her quick reflexes, team spirit, and athletic commitment.

Those who know her describe a hardworking, talented young woman who balances school, sports, and her close-knit family life.

Her recent honor roll recognition at Chippewa Hills underscores her drive both on and off the court.

According to her mother, Alisha Bissell, Nayomie was picked up on Sunday, December 21, in Mt. Pleasant, and the family has not heard from or seen her since.

They promptly reported her missing to the Big Rapids Police Department on Monday, December 22.

In an emotional post shared widely online, Alisha wrote:

Similar messages from community members, including Rhonda Elain Hopkins, have echoed the same details and plea, amplifying the call for information.

The family has clarified that Nayomie is not with a friend named Ashlyn from Ithaca, hoping to correct any misinformation and focus efforts effectively.

The Big Rapids area and surrounding communities have come together in support, sharing posts, photos, and updates in hopes that someone has seen Nayomie or knows something that could help.

As a high school senior and athlete, her sudden disappearance has shaken her school, teammates, and extended network, who are all praying for her safe return during what should be a joyful holiday season.

Anyone with information about Nayomie’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Big Rapids Police Department immediately or reach out privately to her family.

Even the smallest detail could make a difference. Her loved ones continue to hold onto hope and faith as the search intensifies.

Please keep Nayomie Bissell and her family in your thoughts, and share this information widely to help bring her home.
