She loved building intricate Lego creations, a reflection of her creativity and focus, and she found her greatest happiness on the soccer field, where her enthusiasm was impossible to miss.
As a player on the UFA Girls Elite team, Zoe was widely admired for her passion for the game.
She played with heart, determination, and an infectious love for soccer that uplifted her teammates and inspired those watching from the sidelines.
Soccer Player Zoe Montenegro Passed Away At The Age Of 11
As per the sources, Zoe Montenegro, a soccer player at the UFA Girls Elite team, took her last breath in January 2026. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
She was 11 years old and was about to turn 12 on January 14, 2026.
Iowa Storm Soccer Club took to their official Facebook handle to announce the tragic news. They wrote,

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Zoe Montenegro, a young player from the UFA community.
Our hearts are with the Montenegro family, Zoe’s teammates, coaches, and everyone affected by this loss. We join the soccer community in holding them close in thought and prayer.
Sporting Iowa also took to its official Facebook page and offered heartfelt condolences.
This is bigger than the game.
Our hearts are with the Montenegro family and the entire UFA community as they grieve the loss of Zoe Montenegro.
We are deeply saddened by this heartbreaking news and stand with Zoe’s family, her teammates, her coaches, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jaime Leive from Des Moines, IA, organized the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Zoe’s family with funeral expenses. She wrote,
Zoe was 11 years old and was about to turn 12 on January 14th. She was a bright, joyful child who loved building Legos, playing soccer, and spending time with the people she loved. Her beautiful spirit, smile, and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Jaime LeiveThe campaign aims to collect $30k, and it has collected over $23,328.
Alex Karajic shared the official link to GoFundMe and requested everyone to donate. He wrote,
Our UFA soccer family is devastated by the tragic loss of our Zoe Montenegro. She passed away yesterday leaving behind 3 younger siblings and her sweet mom and dad at the very young age of 11 years. If you are able to contribute, anything helps.
Thanks for considering and please keep this sweet family in your thoughts and prayers.
Other close ones and relatives have also offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Zoe’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

Zoe Montenegro Is Survived By Her Parents And Siblings
Soccer player Zoe Montenegro was born on January 14, 2014, to her father, Ignacio, and her mother, Ariana Montenegro.
Her parents have stayed away from social media highlights, so little is known about their private lives.
They always supported Zoe in achieving her soccer dreams.
Moreover, Zoe grew up with her siblings, Leah, Santiago, and Sol.
They are also mourning the loss of their sister, Zoe Montenegro.
